Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial championship for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a former number one, has had a difficult year, winning just one win at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in specific - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with former mentor his previous coach.
Presently working with Johansson and his other coach, he has steadily improved in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's initial championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court from March of the previous year.
Success also signifies he has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to win a championship is particularly special," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six finals, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's defensive strategy and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had prompted commentators to wonder if his ability to compete at the top level was concluded.
However the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform aggressively, supported by an improved serving game.
He recovered from a break down in the first set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the concluding five games to take the lead.
Both players traded service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden tour title, gained dominance to push for a third set.
The opponent saved 4 initial break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to close out the victory.
Suitably, he earned victory with a point at the net, with Moutet incapable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
